UFC 159 summary/review

UFC 159 had a very good fight card, especially the main event, Jon Jones vs. Chael Sonnen. The first few prelim fights were pretty
good most of them going the full distance. I want to take a minute to talk about the Phil Davis
Vinny Magalahaes fight. Davis obviously won the fight, controlling it for the rounds, throwing fit more
Strikes than Magalahaes, and winning by unanimous decision. The Roy Nelson, Chiek Kongo fight was far more exciting. Despite his build, Nelson destroyed Kongo with a huge overhand right and ended it in the first round. The next bout, between Micheal Bisping and Alan Belcher was a pretty exciting fight. There had been a lot of trash talking up to this fight, but Bisping obviously dominated all three rounds. It ended in the third round due to an eye poke to Alan Belcher. Belcher immediately dropped to the ground and his eye started to bleed. Bisping won the fight by technical decision, and that was only one of the many of UFC 159. The main event was a very exciting fight. Jon Jones vs. Chael Sonnen. There a had been a ton of trash talking up to this fight, especially by Sonnen. But in the first round of the bout, Jones took down Sonnen, an extraordinary wrestler, three times. After the fight Sonnen said,"I think I've been taken down three times in my career. He took me down three times in one round." Jones eventually put the mount on Sonnen later in the first round, and rained down punches and elbows on him and won by TKO. As Jones celebrated, he looked down and relized he had very gruesome looking broken toe. As he was sat down on a stool and had his toe operated on right there in the Octagon, he somehow managed to go on and do the post fight interveiw. A real warrior, in my opinion.
